Kapamilya Trading Post. A First of Its Kind.

Sagip Kapamilya’s assistance to families affected by disasters doesn’t end with relief operations. After the provision of the family’s immediate needs, Sagip Kapamilya embarks on sustainable development projects to better the lives of people after tragedy. Exactly the case for the people of General Nakar, Quezon through the construction of the first-ever Kapamilya Trading Post.

“Nung malaman kong may itatayong palengke na tutulungan ng Sagip Kapamilya ABS-CBN, naisip ko po na ito na ang simula ng pag-unlad ng General Nakar. Magkakaroon ng pagkakataon yung mga taga-rito na makapagnegosyo, mag-entrepreneur.. kung saan ang pera ng mamamayan ng General Nakar ay dito na rin lamang iikot sa General Nakar,” says Mr. Mario Orosco, one of the 60 tenants of Kapamilya Trading Post.

After signing of Memorandum of Agreement between the local government unit and Sagip Kapamilya on July 2009, the construction of the market immediately began. And just recently, the 4-day training was facilitated by Sagip Kapamilya to prepare the stall tenants for the business.

“Sinisikap ng Sagip Kapamilya na bago sila tumulak doon sa negosyong haharapin nila, kailangan nila matutunan yung mga importanteng bagay sa pagnenegosyo. Kagaya po ng aming binibigay na training ngayon, apat na modules po iyon. Yung una, yung pagtuklas sa sarili nilang kakayahan sa negosyo, pamamalakad sa mga tao at pagsungkit ng mga oportunidad dito sa General Nakar na maaaring pagsimulan ng kanilang maliliit na negosyo,” says Sagip Kapamilya Social Development Manager Marcel Riñon.
